Akita Shepherd Guide is a small reference site about one dog: the Akita German Shepherd mix.

We built it because most pages about this mix say the same three things: that it is loyal, that it is a “perfect blend” of both parents, and that you should buy one. Two of those are marketing. An Akita Shepherd is a mixed-breed dog, not a standardized breed, so honest writing about it has to start with the parent breeds and admit what can’t be predicted.

Our articles draw on breed-standard and veterinary sources for the Akita and the German Shepherd Dog, including the AKC, PetMD, the national breed clubs, and veterinary manuals. Where the mix itself has no reliable data (prices are a good example), we say so instead of inventing a number.
